ECHMIADZIN — It was a bright, sunny and joyous day at Mer Doon. The anticipation and excitement of the arrival of a very special guest filled the air.

First Lady Rita Sargisian, who had visited Mer Doon before, was welcomed as a close family member of Mer Doon. Seven doves were released in her honor as she exited her automobile. A key to Mer Doon was presented to her, which she accepted joyfully and asked that the lock to Mer Doon never be changed.

The girls of Mer Doon prepared a short fairytale-like presentation about Mer Doon.

The entire Mer Doon staff and family once again thanked the first lady for remembering them and spending time with them. Together they danced and sang the Mer Doon song written by composer Martin Aharonyan, who was also present for the festivities. Sargisian was filled with great emotions and parted with these words: “maybe you haven’t more things, but you have mothers like your staff and me. I am your mother too.”
