UK House of Commons Hosts Karabagh Movement Roundtable

LONDON (Hetq) — A round-table discussion titled “The 25th anniversary of the Karabagh Movement: Struggle for Independence and Justice,” was held at the UK House of Commons on March 25.

The event was organized by the British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group and the Armenian Embassy in Great Britain.

The discussion was chaired by Vice President of the British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group John Whittingdale, chairman of the House Committee on Press, Sport and Culture.

Member of the Armenian National Assembly Vahan Hovhannisyan, NKR Deputy Foreign Minister Felix Khachatryan and Director of the Regional Research Center Richard Giragosian delivered speeches on the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh Movement, the Sumgait massacres and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabagh conflict.

The meeting featured president of the British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group, Baroness Caroline Cox, members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, diplomats accredited to London, representatives of the Armenian community, analysts, historians and students.
