Armenian Broadcasting Holds Successful Gala

radiohourWATERTOWN — Recently, the Armenian Independent Broadcasting of Boston, the radio hour of the Armenian community, celebrated its 35th anniversary with a banquet at the Armenian Educational and Cultural Center and raised more than $20,000 towards its annual expenses.

The radio hour was founded by the late Jirayr Gharibian and for the last 25 years has been directed by his widow, Yevkine Zarfian Gharibian.

The 35th Anniversary Committee members were, seated from left, Mary Demirjian, Garbis Zerdelian, Yevkine Gharibian, Judy Zarifian, Avik Deirmendjyan, Janet Khalaryan, standing Zara Kazelian, Marine Kavlakian, Nartouhi Abrimian, Maral Der Torosian, Khajak Megerditchian, Misak Barsoumian, Nayira Balageozian and Haygouhi Deyirmendjyan.
