Wedding Announcement” Inna Djaniants and Jon Simonian Jr. Marry

NEW YORK (New York Times) — Inna Mikhaylovna Djaniants and Jon David Simonian Jr. were married July 8 at Holy Cross Church of Armenia in Washington Heights, where three years earlier they met while attending an Armenian cooking class sponsored by the church. Rev. Mardiros Chevian performed the ceremony, with the Rev. Arshen Aivazian taking part.

Mrs. Simonian, 32, is a first-grade teacher at Public School 20, a grammar school in New York. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a master’s degree in education from Fordham.

She is a daughter of Karine Y. Djaniants and Mikhail G. Djaniants of High Point, NC. The bride’s father, who is retired, was a custom-furniture craftsman at Steelcase, a furniture maker in High Point. Her mother is a sales associate for a Belks department store there.

Her husband, 31, is an associate director of finance at Universal McCann Worldwide, an advertising agency based in New York. He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and is studying for an MBA at New York University.

He is the son of Charlene R. Simonian and Jon D. Simonian of New York. The groom’s mother retired as the director of admissions for Saint Albans School, an elementary school in New York. His father retired as an institutional equity salesman for Morgan Stanley, also in New York.
