About The Armenian Mirror-Spectator

The first English language Armenian weekly published in the United States since 1932 and has served the Armenian community with unbiased news reporting and thoughtful editorial comments and articles. The Armenian Mirror-Spectator has been open to diverse ideas and positions, making it a most interesting forum for the entire spectrum of community views and news.

From its inception and continuing for eight decades, the Mirror has adhered to high journalistic standards, providing reliable information to the Armenian communities all over the world.

Staff Editors

Editor, Armenian Mirror-Spectator Alin K. Gregorian was born in Iran, and moved to the US with her family immediately before the Islamic Revolution. She received her bachelor’s degree in international relations from Tufts University and her master’s degree in print journalism from Boston University. Before arriving at the Armenian Mirror-Spectator, she worked at several community newspapers, including as editor of the Bedford Minuteman and as assistant editor of the Belmont Citizen-Herald. During her tenure, both newspapers were nominated for and or received awards from the New England Press Association. She is fluent in Armenian and Farsi, and has also studied French and Spanish. She loves to travel, to read novels and solve New York Times crossword puzzles. She has one daughter, Tenny, and a dog, Luna.
Aram Arkun is managing editor of the Armenian Mirror-Spectator, as well as executive director of the Tekeyan Cultural Association of the US and Canada, which supports the Mirror. Journalist/editor, historian and translator, he is the author of numerous academic articles on modern Armenian history, including on the Armenian Genocide.

Senior Editorial Columnist

Senior editorial columnist EDMOND Y. AZADIAN is Advisor to the Alex and Marie Manoogian Museum in Detroit, Michigan; Advisor from the Diaspora to the Ministry of Culture in Armenia; member of the Republic of Armenia’s Academy of Sciences. He served as assistant editor of the Armenian daily Zartonk and editor-in-chief of the daily Arev in Cairo, Egypt. He is a leader of the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party. Azadian has authored several books in Armenian and English, including Portraits and Profiles, Observations and Criticisms, and History on the Move; edited more than 21 books; and published over 1500 articles, book reviews, and essays in daily newspapers and literary magazines. His latest publication, a bilingual one, is dedicated to the famous Armenian poet, Vahan Tekeyan. He has been associated with the Mirror-Spectator for the last 45 years.
