ARMENIA’S ARF WOMEN’S ORGANIZATION
Leader Maria Titizian-Vice-President
of Socialist International
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Tuesday was elected to the vice-presidency of Socialist International, with Armenia’s ARF Women’s Organization leader Maria Titzian filling the position.
The ARF, which has been a full-fledged member of the SI since 2003, will fill one of 37 vice-presidencies of the organization. Titizian’s position will oversee a vast region, which includes Armenia.
The SI convention also re-elected Yorgho Papandreou as its president and Luis Ayala as its Secretary General.
The meeting convened Monday in Athens with the ARF participating with nine representatives. Aside from Titizian, the organization was represented by ARF Bureau members Mario Nalbandian and Levon Mkrtchyan, ARF Central Committee of Greece members Kevork Kolanian, Alice Papazian, Kaspar Garabedian, Vahan Bzdigian and Ricardo Yerganian, as well as the ARF Lebanon Central Committee chairman Benjo Bdjakdjian and the “Azad Or” newspaper representative editor Hripsime Harutunian.
In discussing the possible membership of the Socialist party of Turkish-occupied, Cyprus, Nalbandian, echoed the sentiments of the Socialist Party of Cyprus and voiced his opposition to the proposal.
In his remarks, Nalbandian said that any party that wishes to join SI, must adhere to its principles of fraternalism, equally, justice and peace. As long as Turkey continues to occupy a portion of Cyprus and abuses the people’s rights, it cannot be allowed to be a part of Socialist International.
The ARF delegation, led by its Bureau members, held several meetings, including one with SI president Papandreou, who expressed interest in visiting Armenia as one of his priorities.
Participating at the SI convention were dignitaries from throughout the world, including Paraguay president Fernando Luco, Iraqi president Jalal Talabani, Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abaas, Israeli defense minister Ehoud Barak, Russian Duma president Sergei Muronov and Cyprus Foreign Minister Yanakis Omirou.
The convention also voted to expel the Socialist Party of Fiji, since it recently joined a coalition government led by the country’s military junta.
Since its full-fledged membership in SI in 2003 and advisory status membership in 1999, the ARF has been represented in numerous SI conventions and regional meetings, including participation in SI Women’s Organization and the International Union of Socialist Youth (SI’s youth organization).

Founded in 1951, the present Socialist International is the successor to the Socialist International established in the late Nineteenth Century, to which the ARF became a member in 1907. In the 1960’s, the ARF’s membership in SI was terminated because of changes in SI’s regulations. At SI’s 1996 Congress in New York, the ARF joined the new SI as an observer. The decision to grant the ARF full membership was made in the SI Council’s meeting in Casablanca in June 2002. The decision was reinstated by the 22nd Congress in San Paolo.
The Socialist International presently includes 150 socialist’s social democratics and labor parties from throughout 100 countries. Fifty-two of these parties actively participate in their respective governments.

A FEW THOUGHTS OF SOCIALISM-COMMUNISM
The last dictator of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, sought only to mend the roof of his giant empire when its socialist foundations were rotten to the core.
In the west and even in the east, the symptoms of socialist disease have been discussed but not its ideological, political, or economic causes. The ideological foundations of Soviet power and the real reasons behind the decision to spread socialism-communism throughout the world using cunning and violence, a decision, which has resulted in the greatest spiritual, social and ecological catastrophe in the history of mankind.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) party was formed in 1890. At that time the “Narodnaya Volya” by Zionists in Russia dominated the political field. The ARF’s preamble in 1892 was practically drawn from the platform of the Narodnaya Volya, more of a socialistic and class organization rather than patriotic.
The three principle founders of the ARF were Christopher Michaelian, “Rostom” (Stepan Zorian), and Simon Zavarian. At this time, Rostom had returned to Tiflis from his studies in Geneva, Switzerland influenced by the spread of communism in Europe.
The ARF as well as Russia’s Zionists were agitating for the downfall of the tsarist regime. This came about in 1917 when Zionist agitation from internal and external forces from the west, succeeded in assassinating Tzar Nicholas II, his wife and children. From 1917 to 60 years later there was perpetrated genocide of over 45 million Christian Russians.

In “The Communist Manifesto”, Karl Marx openly declared that, “Force must be used to conquer the world. We can only reach our goals by violently overthrowing the entire established order.” The class struggle was to abolish many individual liberties, and simplify the extinction of all-profound cultural values and creations.
In “Das Kapital” (1867), Marx also believed it absolutely necessary to stress the need of violence in socialist actions. He wrote: “Violence is the midwife who helps a new society struggle out from the womb of the Old.”
Slogans like “Workers of the world – unite!” were needed in order to get the army of the blind to aid the Illuminati into power before they were subdued and finally enslaved – all in the name of “light-bringing” Communism. The class struggle was to abolish many individual liberties and simplify the extinction of all-profound cultural values and creations.
Marx eagerly stressed that Socialism was impossible without revolution. Naturally, these Marxist “theories” were full of contradictions. Marx’s “doctrine” only concerned the way physical work creates values. In contrast, he did not acknowledge creative thought, which could be said to shape the world to an even greater extent.
Moses Hess, one of the most important founders of communist ideology, believed communism to be a perfect lie to spread destruction. Hess stated, “The true socialist cannot have anything to do with his nationality.” He was born in 1812 – died in 1875, and buried in Israel.
Socialism is the big lie of the twentieth century. While it promised prosperity, equality, and security, it delivered poverty, misery, and tyranny. Equality was achieved only in the sense that everyone was equal in his or her misery.
The temptress of socialism is constantly luring us with the offer: “Give up a little of your freedom and I will give you a little more security.” As the experience of this century has demonstrated, the bargain is tempting, but never pays off. We end up losing both our freedom and our security.
